It Absolutely Can Happen Here

It is already happening here

“My school district is one of the good ones.”

“My child’s teacher would never say anything like this.”

“You’re cherry-picking and overreacting.”

We have all heard the excuses. We have all heard the rationalizations whenever another story about schools teaching critical race theory or sexually deviant ideas breaks the news. We want to believe that the schools our children attend, and the teachers and staff to whom we entrust our precious children, are completely above reproach. We cannot allow ourselves to face the awful possibility that we have been sending our children into the lions den for their entire lives.

Public schools have become so ingrained in our society that most parents think nothing of leaving their children in the care of people who are essentially strangers for eight hours a day, 180 days a year, during their most impressionable ages. To our ancestors, this would have been absurd, yet for the past century it has become so commonplace that families who choose a different route - such as homeschooling - are seen as the weird ones. Yet how much do most parents know about the curricula in their children’s schools?

Last Friday night in Star, author and expert Dr. James Lindsay told a group of elected officials, candidates, and concerned parents exactly how Marxism and its horrific offspring were introduced into the public school system. At the same time that Christian parents and leaders were pulling back, agreeing to let the public school system be value-neutral, the Marxist left was introducing the ideas that today form the foundation of critical race theory, queer theory, and all the other unnatural and anti-American ideas being force-fed to our students. I very much hope that the candidates and legislators in the room were listening closely, because it absolutely is happening here in Idaho.

Last year, the Idaho State Legislature banned the teaching of critical race theory in our public schools. So that was the end of it, right? Of course not. Teachers simply changed a few words and continued their lessons which said white students are beneficiaries of a racist system and carry inherited guilt, the original sin of whiteness. Accuracy in Media released leaked video footage last week showing Idaho teachers bragging about how they were still pushing Marxism in their classrooms despite the ban:

“Changed the label, same stuff. And I thought it's kind of a bummer they have to do that but at the same time it's kind of brilliant. Because they [parents] don't care about this, even though it's the same as this. But it's the label.”

You see, the problem is not the label. The problem is not even in the curricula. The problem is with how we train our teachers. Nearly every public school employee has come up through the same corrupt system. A young person will graduate high school with thirteen years of indoctrination already under their belt, only to go to college for four, five, or six more years to get their degree and teaching certificate. There, they will study books such as Paolo Freire’s Pedagogy of the Oppressed and Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States. Before they even decorate their first classroom they have already been molded into a Marxist revolutionary. They are taught that their job is to turn students into little Marxist revolutionaries as well. As Dr. Lindsay put it, the purpose of public education today is “to teach students to transform existing society.”

These teachers and administrators know that regular parents are not into the whole Marxism thing, so they obfuscate. As you can see in AIM’s videos, they use different words to hide what they are really teaching your students. It’s not critical race theory, rather it is black history and practicing racial sensitivity! It’s not propaganda that pushes children to adopt a transgender or nonbinary identity, it is only sex education to keep them safe from STDs! “Marxists love to screw around with words,” explained Dr. Lindsay last Friday night.

In the wake of the Florida law preventing teachers from secretly grooming grade school students, numerous LGBTQ+ educators have taken their sob stories to TikTok and cable news, complaining that they are no longer going to be able to share their perversions with their students. Many have openly stated that they will not only continue to teach these ideas but will continue to hide them from parents as well. As I wrote last week, leftist educators think that your children are theirs to mold as they see fit. They see you, a father and a mother with traditional Christian and American values, as the enemy. They firmly believe in Vladimir Lenin’s maxim: “Give me a child for four years and I’ll plant a seed so deep you’ll never uproot it.”

It would be one thing if this was all happening in a vacuum, with no antecedents. However, Dr. Lindsay reminded us that American Marxists are using the exact same playbook as Mao Zedong in the Chinese Cultural Revolution. He encouraged students to turn in their counter-revolutionary teachers and parents. He attacked the family, heritage, and religion, aiming to build a new kind of human being from scratch. In November of 2020, a Chinese expatriate wrote about escaping the aftermath of the Cultural Revolution only to see the same thing happening here:

“For a decade, the Chinese Cultural Revolution thoroughly wrecked the economy, uprooted traditions, destroyed social trust by turning family members on each other, and worst of all, killed well more than a million people. One can only wonder how far its American replication will go.”

Dr. Lindsay’s speech last Friday night was bold and unflinching. “If they get the kids, they can sever them from their nation, their family, their religion, and their culture.” He asked us to go back in time to Russia before 1917 and China before 1949, where citizens of those nations surely said “it can’t happen here.”

But it did happen there.

It can happen here.
