I ask you to forgive the sparse posting lately. Work has been extra busy while I’ve been doing some things that need done at home as well.
Oh, and we also had a new baby.
Ethan Leroy Almon was born in the waning moments of Wednesday, June 14. Like most of our other children he has a holiday birthday - Flag Day, in his case - but he also shares his birthday with the 45th President of the United States himself, Donald Trump.
I have been nevertheless keeping busy. One thing that I’ve been really excited about is IFF’s "Pride in America” celebration. Rather than simply complaining about the left’s celebration of deviancy, Wayne Hoffman decided to highlight figures who exemplified the traditional conservative values that made America great in the first place.
Thus far we have celebrated figures such as Riley Gaines, the champion swimmer who spoke out against transgender athletes destroying women’s sports; Clarence Thomas, the great Supreme Court jurist who wouldn’t let Joe Biden destroy him 30 years ago and still stands strong today; Tucker Carlson, who refuses to be silenced by the enemies of truth, and George Washington, the father of our country and one of the greatest men in history.
I have had the privilege of writing most of these short articles, but I want to expecially highlight policy analyst Niklas Kleinworth’s excellent piece yesterday on James Madison:
Unlike other political heroes that have statues, land, and monuments attesting to their achievements, Madison’s monument is the Constitution itself, and the values it protects. Preserving Madison’s legacy means preserving the Constitution, the balance of government, and our God-given liberties forever.
Click here to read them all, and check back each day until July 4th for more.
In the meantime, here are some interesting discussions I have watched over the past few weeks:
Auron MacIntyre has one of the best shows around right now. He had several great guests on last week but his discussion with “reactionary feminist” Mary Harrington stood out:
My friend Dustin Hurst has teamed up with Greg Pruett for a weekly podcast looking at the issues and figures who will shape the 2024 campaigns. This week Dustin, chatted with Steve Tanner of Nampa, one of two candidates who wants to challenge incumbent moderate Republican Kenny Wroten in the district 13 primary:
TimcastIRL is usually a great discussion. This week’s standout was a talk with Billboard Chris, a Canadian activist who has done tremendous work in exposing the transgender agenda and its harmful effects on children:
Whatifalthist is a production of a Zoomer history enthusiast named Rudyard that looks at where we are in the course of time, and what current and past trends portend for the future. In this fantastic video he explains how 20th century communism was not just a religion, but a horrific and dystopian one as well:
If you’re not subscribed to IFF’s production of Nowhere to Hyde then you should be. Twice a week, Bryan Hyde methodically breaks down how corporate media twists and obfuscates the truth in service of a left-wing narrative:
How about something a little less serious? Kitboga’s videos are great both as entertainment as well as education, as he demonstrates the tactics that online scammers use to steal your time and your money:
Finally, remind yourself that everything will be fine. I stumbled upon this compilation of calm classical music the other day and had it playing as I ended up delivering my son myself as the midwife was rushing into the room. Everything will indeed be just fine:
The most up-lifting and joyous article you've ever written. Congratulations, Brian. May the Lord bless you to shoulder this precious responsibility in stride. And may Ethan Leroy fulfill the measure of his creation due to the pathways in which he is raised.
👶Happy New Baby! Your family is a wonder, and so is your writing and enlightening. Hugs to all.
