I've got big plans for 2024

I hope you had a fantastic Christmas day with your family and friends. As we count down the days to what will surely be a momentous year in the history of our nation, I want to share some things I’ve been working on.

I continue to be floored by how this platform has grown over the past two years. I never expected that my ideas would reach so many people, or that I could even hope to make this my day job. I don’t want to simply rest on my laurels, however. My goal is to keep growing, to keep doing more to bring you the information you need to change our culture.

One of the biggest limitations of Substack is that Twitter, the de facto online public square, severely downranks Substack links. That makes it difficult for any of my posts to go viral. To get around that issue I have created an entirely new platform, a website where all my content will live.

Substack isn’t going away, it will still be the subscription and email engine for this platform. Paid subscribers will continue to get early and exclusive content, and free subscribers will still get the posts via email they always have. However, having a completely custom website should make it easier to share content on social media.

It’s not done yet, but when it’s complete this new site will be easy to navigate and will put important information at your fingertips. Every Substack post going forward will be mirrored here, as well as videos, podcasts, guest articles, guest editorials, political news, and more.

The new website will have two fun new ways to support my work going forward. First is ads. Now, I am not a big fan of ads in general, but ads for local like-minded businesses are different. If you have a restaurant, a real estate office, or any other business you’d like to promote, drop me a line and we’ll work something out.

The other way to support this platform is the merch store. So far I’ve got designs for mugs, stickers, and hoodies, but I’m working on more as we speak. Existing subscribers will get some exclusive discounts, so stay tuned!

Finally, the feature I’m most excited about is something I’m calling Session Snapshot. Every day of the 2024 legislative session I will bring you updates about the bills that matter most. I’ll let you know as each bill is read in committee and debated on the floor, and alert you when it’s time to testify or call your legislators. I think this will be a valuable tool for anyone interested in the political process.
