Thanksgiving has come and gone, and Christmas is on the horizon. The days are hurtling by at breakneck speed. To quote an old movie, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
This week I’ve been assisting Eagle Mayor Jason Pierce with a series of livestreams in which he answers questions from the public on a wide variety of issues. By the time you read this, our Wednesday morning stream will be complete. Check it out here:
Last week I recorded an episode of Keep the Republic with Dr. Daniel Bobinski, which aired Saturday morning. We discussed Senator Winder’s reprimands of three Freedom Caucus members and Governor Little’s PACs going after two more. Listen to the whole episode here:
I recently posted an essay with examples of how the nascent American police state is already here. However, I neglected perhaps the most cogent example. In 2015 and 2016, Douglass Mackay had an anonymous Twitter account with a moderate following with whom he shared pro-Trump and anti-Clinton memes. It was fun, I followed him back then. Today, he is in prison for ten years after the Biden Justice Department decided to make an example of him. Watch his interview with Tucker Carlson recorded before he went to prison:
On Monday, American Moment hosted State Freedom Caucus Network President Andy Roth for a discussion about why state legislators from across the country have united under the Freedom Caucus banner. He does a great job of explaining why the Freedom Caucus is necessary and how it can help overcome the roadblocks thrown up by legislative leadership and state governors who are not aligned with conservative principles.
Make sure you’re subscribed to Gem State Substack on YouTube and/or Rumble. I’ve been uploading my audio podcasts there and later this week I’ll be releasing my interview with Matt McCaw of the Greater Idaho movement. You won’t want to miss that! In the meantime, check out this short clip below:
Finally, last week Auron MacIntyre interviewed the always-interesting Mary Harrington to discuss a concept she has been ruminating over. The internet has brought us together in many ways, but in doing so it has taken away a lot of human agency. Many people simply adopt the opinions and perspectives they hear from their peers, which thanks to the web includes thousands of people across the entire world. What happens when AI strengthens those connections exponentially?
Thank you again for reading and for your support. Remember that you can support my work for less than the cost of a cup of coffee each week. It means the world to me. Thank you!
Thank you for helping Mayor Pierce break through the social media lies. We may be tied for #1 fans of his. But I’m satisfied to have your picture on social media rather than mine :-)
Can’t wait to look at all the videos and links you provided.
