Mr. Ridegway and his friends are pretty obvious to anyone who is paying attention. He has been behind SOS Eagle, the laughable recall attempt, and basically every other organized attack on Mayor Pierce and the council.
Whether or not someone from that group explicitly asked Council Member Pike to run, I can't say. But SOS Eagle recently scrubbed an update from their website where Pike thanked them for the work they were doing in Eagle. It's clear to me that they wanted a conservative to run against Mayor Pierce, perhaps hoping to split the vote enough to go to a runoff.
