The area I grew up in was very conservative. Local officials kept taxes low and didn't spend a lot of money.
As more people moved in we needed more services (bathrooms at the park by the river and a baseball diamond, for example).
Conservatives said "no" for years until they lost elections to progressives who built the bathrooms/ball field and now control everything.
Part of governance is finding the most effective and efficient way to deliver what the people want.
I like beautiful parks and a robust, well trained police department. So what I am looking for is leadership capable of delivering the best product for the lowest price.
I don't live in Eagle so I didn't follow the Avimor situation but I'd rather a conservative mayor manage the project - even if he doesn't agree with it from an ideological standpoint.
