Brian, you are so right on all counts! Local, local, local! Keep your money and donations local. Local and state elections influence our lives above all others and voters must turn out in droves the next time they have a chance to influence their own daily lives. Unfortunately, the feds have become so powerful that the presidential election DOES matter.
As for Trump, while I support him, I'll never forgive him for Operation Warp Speed or his unapologetic unwillingness to admit that the entire Covid response -- including lockdowns, masks, social distancing, "non-essential" business and church closures and ESPECIALLY Covid jabs -- was unconstitutional and just plain wrong. Yet Trump continues to brag about his handling of the entire mess and especially the jabs. DeSantis, by contrast, hired a great Surgeon General, admitted the errors of the CovidEra (including his own), and is working hard to reverse the harms.
Ron DeSantis has done such great work! I prefer most of his policies to Trump’s. What he has done for Florida and freedom embody great statesmanship, patriotism, and conservative values. That said, I wish DeSantis would postpone his presidential aspirations to preserve the Free State of Florida, to show other governors in “red” states how to be real governors with backbone, to avoid dividing the conservative movement, and to prevent wasting precious donations needed for a Republican win against a well-funded Democratic machine.
DeSantis is young! He has time. With a solid track record as a successful governor and national figure, DeSantis could win the 2028 presidential nomination and election by a landslide.
Trump is a flawed candidate, but he inspires conservative voters to do two important things: Donate and Vote. Trump absolutely can beat Joe Biden if he doesn’t also have to mud wrestle people in his own party. (On the other hand, if Democrats have their way, Trump will again be distracted by trumped up charges or in custody, which could strengthen the argument for candidate DeSantis.) Just my two-cent donation’s worth.
I agree wholeheartedly with almost everything you stated Brian. I actually wish Trump was more Presidential and would let the chips fall where they may and maybe leave an opening for DeSantis being the Veep. Can you imagine DeSantis bringing over independents, women etc and being the deciding vote in the Senate? DeSantis is such a policy wonk he could steer Trump clear of stupid legislation that he doesn't seem to understand most of the time. The Problem is Trump's ego cannot handle it. I think Trump is too toxic to most independents and the Deep State already screwed Trump before and I expect they will do it again since most voting laws didn't change.

My thoughts exactly. It is so wrong to engage in a DeSantis/Trump fight. The last thing we need is them fighting. We need unity.
And Local is more likely to impact your daily life. Nice Article B
