Nailed it Brian. I think the Trump Presidency and how much the GOP has changed since, was due to a Billionaire who builds skyscrapers and can relate with the actual working men doing the work. It is interesting how you pointed out how Rand Paul is probably one of the lonliest Senators when it comes to reducing government largess and so many other Republicans speak a good game but vote for endless continuing resolutions.
