The Drag to Surgery Pipeline
Grocery stores, nonprofits, and government agencies are funding debauchery in Idaho
Boise Pride Fest is this weekend. This celebration of deviancy and debauchery began in 1989, a time when the gay rights agenda was all about acceptance and tolerance. In 2022, acceptance and tolerance are higher than they have ever been, but the agenda marches on. The battlefield in 1989 was whether or not the US Military could reject homosexual recruits. The battlefield in 2022 is whether or not families have a right to protect their children from sexual grooming in schools, libraries, and public parks.
I wrote a new article for the Idaho Freedom Foundation this week about the Pride Fest, specifically looking at how government agencies are using our tax dollars to fund this event.
It is bad enough that we are forced to fund a celebration of debauchery.
It is even worse when that debauchery is explicitly targeted toward children.
The eyes of the nation have turned to Boise after anti-woke activist Christopher Rufo tweeted out this page from the Pride Fest flier, which describes a child drag show for ages 11-18.
Drag Kids range from ages 11 - 18 and are ready to bring it all to the Boise Pride Festival stage.
Bring all of what, exactly?
Events like this have been held throughout the country, as children have been put into highly sexualized situations, taught to dance on stage for the approval (and sometimes cash) of disturbed adults, and even the slightest criticism is shouted down as homophobia. Children are being exposed to activities that in years past were confined to seedy strip clubs, but events like this are celebrated and subsidized by grocery store chains, banks, government agencies, and healthcare providers.
We expect public colleges and universities to educate students, not fund child drag shows.
We expect city government to fix the roads and maintain public safety, not fund child drag shows.
We expect government health agencies to promote public health, not fund child drag shows.
Public health agencies supporting Pride Fest is deeply ironic when Monkeypox has been declared a public health emergency. But the LGBTQ+ agenda is our new national religion, and it must be given higher priority than any other concern.
It is especially jarring to see St. Luke’s on the list of sponsors for Pride Fest. As the Idaho Dispatch just reported, St. Luke’s offers so-called gender affirming care for children and adolescents. Their St. Luke's Children's Essence Clinic “provides hormonal therapy, mental health evaluation, and surgical consultations” for “children, adolescents, and young adults with differences in sexual development (DSD) and/or gender identity.”
Recall how schools have been turned into transgender propaganda mills. Recall the story of one young woman, Helena Kerschner, who was pulled into that world, and whose life will never be the same.
Recall that LGBTQ+ activists outright state that the object of involving children in events like this is to awaken them to their own queerness. James Lindsay clearly shows that this is not just innocent fun. He recently read through an academic paper coauthored by an activist and a drag queen who explain that the purpose of Drag Queen Story Hour is to induct children into the world of queerness. This child drag show at Pride Fest is just more of the same.
By both sponsoring child drag shows and offering gender affirming care, St. Luke’s has literally created a drag-to-surgery pipeline. They are getting a return on their investment. Perhaps the administrators and practitioners of this institution would be well served to recall how their namesake quoted our Lord:
And he said to his disciples, “Temptations to sin are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.
Luke 17:1-2 ESV
We can fight back.
Zion’s Bank has already issued a statement withdrawing their sponsorship of Pride Fest due to the child drag show. Call the companies on this list and respectfully ask them to follow suit. Even more important than private companies are the public agencies. There is no reason that the City of Boise, College of Western Idaho, Central District Health, or the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare should be supporting this event with our money.
If you have a few minutes, call or email these agencies and respectfully ask them to withdraw support from this event. Make sure to explain that what they are sponsoring includes a child drag show. The silent majority needs to break their silence if we are to save our communities from this onslaught.
It is darkly ironic how Christian conservatives were mercilessly mocked in the 1990s for their warnings about where the gay agenda was headed. They are owed every apology today. There are no brakes on this train - not in a time when children are deliberately subjected to sexual grooming in schools, libraries, and public parks, where young people are encouraged to take hormones, drugs for chemical castrations, and have irreversible surgery, and when any resistance to this agenda invites censorship and persecution. A backlash is growing in America. Remember, pride goes before the fall.
Drag Kids is a war on children's hearts, minds, and bodies. Nearly every big company in Idaho and some smaller ones are sponsoring this thing: https://boisepridefest.org/2022-sponsors. We should show our displeasure by withdrawing our financial support from as many of these companies as we can, and tell them why.
Be aware that "gender affirming surgery" may pay well for the surgeons and seem compassionate at first glance, but it often leaves the surgically-altered mired in regret and deep despair.
